WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES FACING CHURCH GIVING TODAY?

Almost all churches today use a weekly collection system involving a simple plate, count, and many envelopes and cash contributions. There are several dynamics impeding the full potential of traditional envelope / cash gifts:

- On average, 75% of the envelopes mailed to church members' homes never get returned.

- Donations dwindle towards the end of the month (20% drop between average contributions from first week to last week)

- Cash contributions are reflexive (I have a $5 bill and a $20 bill, but I need to pick up groceries so I'll give the $5 bill)

- Inclement weather, Summer or Winter vacation, or illness frequently cause Service attendance (and subsequently weekly offertory) to plummet.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SOLVE THESE DILEMMAS WITH CHURCHGIVING

Over the past four years, ChurchGiving has optimized its solution to cure all of these issues and more - averaging over a 128% increase in giving when compared with the same church members the previous year.

- We collect 100% of the pledged monthly amount, with no drop off because of forgotten envelopes.

- We stabilize the cash-flow of the church, providing the funds up front towards the beginning of the month. Consistency of offertory reporting increases as more and more church members use ChurchGiving.

- ChurchGiving contributions are reflective meaning that church members make a conscious choice as to the amount they wish to contribute on a monthly basis. When a giving decision is made monthly, as opposed to weekly, church members opt to give more as it is framed in a budget that they understand better (as most payments and giving opportunities are presented monthly).

- Although attendance is strongly encouraged, church members who are not in the church community on a given Sunday still have the assurance that their contribution has already been transferred.
